The project aims to build a specific teaching method that aims to:

  •  help students from the legal area to gain knowledge of what AI systems are and how they work;

  • help students from the STEM domain to raise awareness of the interaction between ethical-legal principles and the design of AI technologies.

What it include

The project

The project combines traditional and innovative teaching methods to enhance participant engagement and active learning. Teaching strategies include:

Case-based Learning

This method engages participants in solving real-world AI governance challenges. Theoretical discussions are complemented by simulated legal case studies on AI-related issues, mainly focusing on the selected case studies. Participants collaborate in identifying regulatory gaps and proposing legal solutions based on the problem-solving and Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) methodologies.

Adaptive Learning

The content and format of educational activities are tailored to the participants’ expertise levels, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness.

Interdisciplinary Teaching

The project emphasises the participation of legal and technical experts alongside practitioners from industry, public administration and civil society.

By implementing this structured concept methodology, ReCEPL4STAI contributes to the sustainable and trustworthy development of AI in the EU, ensuring alignment with EU values and regulatory frameworks and disseminating EU studies also outside Europe.

This teaching concept has been concretely realised with the following outputs:

  • Curricular enhancements introducing new hybrid methodologies and skills via JS-STEM dialogue. To achieve these objectives, teaching curricula have been enhanced with selected topics developed during the three years of the project. Lectures are held by chairs with the project team component of legal and computer science who interact with each other, realising progressive and deepening knowledge on ReCEPL4STAI Project topics.

  • Empowerment of teaching curricula courses:
